Tinkering with POV
In a story I'm working on now, I'm trying out a working method of Kafka's (or at least so I've read somewhere). I'm writing the first draft in the first person, and will change it to third person in revision.

Priorities
In the bookstore,
clammy, guts churning,
bathroom six feet away--
I finish scanning
the clearance shelves,
barely make it.
Most boring dream ever
A "free" dinner for filling out a survey and sitting through three sales pitches, including an endless PowerPoint presentation. It is at my house, thus (1) making it impossible for me to leave, and (2) alienating all the friends and neighbors who are there.
